dj profiles > Master G

Master G initially started spinning the platters that matter at his local community centre
with one deck, a pair of house speakers and one red lamp back in 1974. He then progressed on to larger venues such as the infamous Palais, Scamps, and Legendry Ad Lid from 1978 to the late 80s.

Music runs in his family; his brother plays the Sax and sister plays the piano with gospel flair. Master G got his first break on radio by securing a daily morning show on pirate station Heatwave FM where he developed his radio skills for nine years. Within that time he also worked on several incremental radio stations including Hot FM (Leicester) and Power FM (Nottingham) amongst others. He currently has a live show at 97.5 Kemet FM between 1600-1800 (GMT) on Saturdays; view playlists here.

Master G is a man with astounding musical knowledge and a record collection to match; he'll bring you Funk 'n' Soul from the early 70s to 80s mixed with some classic Rare Grooves! He says: "I’ve been away from radio for many years and I look forward to sharing my love for the funk 'n' Soul of the 80s with millions of potential listeners!"

He’s currently a member of the Goodtimes & Positive Grooves Crew who specialise in setting the standard for boat parties four times a year and old skool reunions in and around the East Midlands.
